Job Summary
The OT Incharge is responsible for the smooth functioning, scheduling, coordination, and overall management of the Operation Theatre. The role includes ensuring optimum utilization of OT facilities, maintaining accurate records, minimizing billing errors, coordinating surgical procedures efficiently, and ensuring compliance with hospital protocols and patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities1. OT Scheduling & Coordination
- Ensure proper maintenance and monitoring of OT scheduling.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and support departments for smooth surgical flow.
- Ensure optimum utilization of OT resources and operation theatres.
- Monitor daily OT lists and avoid unnecessary delays or cancellations.
2. Surgical Planning & Monitoring
- Monitor planned and unplanned surgeries.
- Ensure unplanned surgeries do not exceed 25% of total surgical cases.
- Support departmental targets for achieving a 5% monthly increase in surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate surgery records and reports.
3. Billing & Documentation
- Ensure accurate billing of OT consumables, implants, and surgical procedures.
- Minimize billing errors and maintain billing discrepancies below 5%.
- Verify OT documentation, implant records, and patient files before final submission.
- Coordinate with billing and finance departments for timely closure of cases.
4. OT Operations Management
- Supervise OT staff deployment and workflow management.
- Ensure availability of instruments, consumables, implants, and equipment before surgeries.
- Maintain OT discip, cleanss, sterility, and infection control standards.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance of OT equipment.
5. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to NABH and hospital quality protocols.
- Maintain OT records, registers, and audit documentation.
- Conduct regular checks for patient safety and surgical safety compliance.
- Support internal audits and quality improvement initiatives.
6. Team Management
- Supervise OT technicians, nursing staff, and housekeeping staff in OT.
- Conduct staff training and orientation programs.
- Ensure proper shift management and manpower utilization.
Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in OT Technology, Nursing, or related healthcare field.
- 4–5 years of experience in Operation Theatre management or supervision.
- Strong knowledge of OT procedures, surgical workflows, and infection control practices.
- Experience in OT scheduling, documentation, and billing coordination.
- Familiarity with NABH standards and hospital quality protocols.
- Good leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to handle emergency situations and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office and hospital management systems.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and support departments for efficient OT functioning.
- Monitor planned and unplanned surgeries and maintain proper surgery records.
- Ensure timely availability of OT consumables, implants, instruments, and equipment.
- Verify OT documentation, surgery records, implant usage, and billing details.
- Minimize billing errors related to OT consumables and implants.
- Supervise OT staff, technicians, and housekeeping personnel.
- Maintain OT discip, sterility, infection control, and patient safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and quality protocols.
- Prepare OT reports, utilization reports, and performance records.
- Support monthly and yearly surgical growth targets.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and proper functioning of OT equipment.
- Handle emergency OT requirements and resolve operational issues efficiently.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
