Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber, aggressive, and result-oriented Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth and expand our market footprint across North India. Stationed in New Delhi, the successful candidate will oversee business development operations in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in managing government accounts, navigating complex tendering processes, and securing large-scale public contracts.
- Location: New Delhi (with regular travel across the assigned territory)
- Reporting To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Managing Director (MD)
- Coordination: Regular liaison with the Head Office (HO) in Kolkata
Key Responsibilities
Government Liaison & Business Development
- Strategic Growth: Drive aggressive sales and business development strategies to secure a dominant market share for weldedmesh products in a highly competitive North Indian market.
- Bureaucratic Liaison: Cultivate, maintain, and leverage strong institutional relationships with government bureaucrats, high-ranking public sector officials, state departments, and infrastructure authorities.
- Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on upcoming infrastructure, civil, and industrial projects within Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and J&K.
Tendering & GeM Portal Management
- End-to-End Tendering: Own the entire government tendering process, including tracking RFPs/NITs, evaluating pre-qualification criteria, preparing technically and commercially sound bids, and managing post-bid follow-ups.
- GeM Portal Operations: Supervise and actively manage procurement activities via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, ensuring timely compliance, product uploads, and bid participation.
- Contract Negotiation: Direct negotiation processes with public sector entities to successfully win and close high-value government contracts.
Reporting & Head Office Coordination
- HO Alignment: Maintain seamless communication and seamless coordination with the Head Office (HO) in Kolkata regarding production capacity, pricing strategy, dispatch schedules, and administrative approvals.
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular, data-driven pipelines, market intelligence, and progress updates directly to the CEO and MD.
Required Candidate Profile
- Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of proven hands-on experience specifically within the weldedmesh manufacturing or closely related steel/wire mesh industry.
- Government Domain Expertise: Strong track record of successfully handling government tenders, PSU contracts, and working with complex procurement cycles.
- Age Bracket: 37 to 52 years.
- Core Competencies: * Exceptional political and corporate acumen to navigate bureaucratic structures.
- Aggressive sales mindset with a demonstrated ability to thrive and hit targets in a competitive environment.
- Outstanding negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
