Job Overview:
Austro Carbon Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lab In-Charge to oversee laboratory operations and quality control activities related to activated carbon manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining testing standards, ensuring product quality compliance, supervising laboratory staff, and supporting production through accurate analysis and reporting..
NOTE : Only individuals with hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of activated carbon are eligible to apply
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise day-to-day laboratory operations and testing activities.
- Conduct and oversee quality analysis of activated carbon products and raw materials.
- Perform testing of parameters including iodine value, moisture content, ash content, pH, hardness, particle size distribution, CTC activity, molasses number, and other applicable specifications.
- Ensure laboratory procedures comply with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain testing records, reports, and calibration logs accurately.
- Coordinate with production teams to monitor process quality and improve consistency.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning properly.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory activities.
- Monitor and manage chemical inventory, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
- Investigate quality deviations and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Train and supervise laboratory technicians and staff.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and environmental compliance requirements
Qualifications & Eligiblity:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3–7 years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, quality control, or analytical testing within manufacturing environments.
- Prior experience in activated carbon manufacturing, chemical processing, carbon products, water treatment, or allied industries will be highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of laboratory testing methodologies, quality assurance practices, and analytical procedures.
- Familiarity with industrial laboratory instruments, calibration procedures, and quality management systems.
- Experience in leading laboratory teams and maintaining documentation in compliance with industry standards is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, laboratory reporting systems, and data analysis practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail
