About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Vendor Development Manager with a strong engineering background to lead vendor sourcing, development, and procurement activities for engineering components and raw materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement vendor development strategies for engineering components and raw materials
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors (machining, forging, casting, fabrication, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing vendors
- Conduct vendor audits and evaluate performance based on Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) parameters
- Handle procurement activities including negotiation of pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms
- Ensure timely availability of materials to meet production requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Quality, Design) for technical and commercial alignment
- Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Resolve vendor-related issues such as quality concerns and delivery delays
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records
- Drive and achieve cost reduction targets
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and audit requirements (ISO, etc.)
- Utilize tools like Google Sheets and MS Excel for tracking, reporting, and data analysis
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- B.Tech / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or related field preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor development or procurement in manufacturing/engineering industries
- Strong experience in steel-related processes such as forging, machining, casting, and fabrication
- Ability to estimate costs of steel components accurately
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of QCD metrics and vendor evaluation processes
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
