We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Pricing Assistant Manager to join our Commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing competitive pricing solutions, managing carrier relationships, supporting business development initiatives, and ensuring profitability across our service offerings.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Quotation Management
- Prepare and review accurate, competitive, and profitable quotations for air freight, ocean freight, and logistics services.
- Support the Sales team with pricing for RFQs, tenders, contracts, and strategic business opportunities.
- Ensure timely responses to customer and internal pricing requests.
Carrier & Vendor Management
- Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, and logistics partners to obtain competitive rates.
- Negotiate pricing agreements and service contracts to maximize profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and service providers.
Market Analysis & Cost Control
- Monitor market trends, freight rate fluctuations, surcharges, and industry developments.
- Conduct competitor analysis to maintain a strong market position.
- Evaluate operational costs and profit margins to ensure sustainable pricing strategies.
Reporting & Data Management
- Maintain accurate records of rates, contracts, and pricing agreements.
- Prepare pricing and profitability reports for management review.
- Analyze pricing performance and provide recommendations to improve commercial outcomes.
- Ensure data accuracy within pricing systems and databases.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on pricing-related matters.
- Act as a key point of contact for escalated pricing inquiries and complex customer requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in pricing, freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Proven experience in preparing quotations, negotiating freight rates, and managing RFQs/tenders.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, transportation, and international logistics operations.
- Understanding of Incoterms, freight cost structures, and global trade practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pricing management systems.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
