Position Summary
The Assistant Finance Manager will assist the Finance Manager in overseeing day-to-day finance and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining financial controls, and providing accurate financial reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and experience in the hospitality or retail sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of books of accounts.
- Monitor general ledger transactions and maintain accounting records.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing management reports and financial analysis.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee vendor payments and reconciliations.
- Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of all transactions.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in annual budgeting and forecasting exercises.
- Monitor departmental expenses against budgets.
- Analyze food costs, beverage costs, labor costs, and operational expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Professional Tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and schedules.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Assist in monitoring daily cash flows and bank balances.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital reports.
- Manage bank reconciliations and banking transactions.
Internal Controls
- Implement and monitor financial controls and SOP compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.
- Support risk management and fraud prevention initiatives.
Team Coordination
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff.
- Coordinate with restaurant operations teams to ensure financial discipline.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / MBA Finance preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
- Prior experience in hospitality, restaurant, retail, or FMCG sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, Tally, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in budgeting, MIS reporting, and financial analysis.
