- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients admitted to the BMT unit.
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient condition, and treatment responses.
- Administer medications, chemotherapy, blood products, and IV fluids as prescribed.
- Maintain strict infection control and isolation protocols in the BMT ward.
- Assist doctors during procedures such as bone marrow infusion and central line care.
- Monitor patients for complications such as infections, graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), and adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, charts, and treatment records.
- Ensure proper handling of chemotherapy drugs and cytotoxic waste as per hospital policy.
- Educate patients and family members regarding hygiene, diet, and post-transplant precautions.
- Coordinate with doctors, the laboratory, the blood bank, and other departments for patient management.
- Respond quickly to medical emergencies and inform the consultant or RMO.
- Ensure proper sterilisation and maintenance of equipment used in the BMT unit.
