The Heavy Vehicle Driver is responsible for transporting event materials, décor items, equipment, and other logistics safely and on time to various event venues. The driver must ensure proper handling of materials, assist with loading and unloading, and maintain the vehicle in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation & Delivery
- Drive heavy vehicles (trucks or lorries) to transport event materials, stage setups, décor items, and equipment to event locations.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of materials from the warehouse to the event venue.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules for deliveries.
Loading & Unloading
- Assist the logistics team in loading and unloading event materials.
- Ensure materials are properly secured during transportation to prevent damage.
- Verify items during dispatch and return after the event.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Maintain the vehicle in good condition and perform basic checks such as fuel, oil, brakes, and tires.
- Report any vehicle issues or repairs required to the management immediately.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and ready for use.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all traffic rules and safety regulations while driving.
- Ensure valid driving license and necessary vehicle documents are always available.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures.
Event Support
- Support the event operations team during setup and dismantling when required.
- Assist in transporting materials back to the warehouse after event completion.
Requirements
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License (HGV / Transport License).
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience driving heavy vehicles.
- Experience in logistics, transport, or event industry is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends when events are scheduled.
