About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director – Quality Assurance to lead and scale our Quality Assurance organization across embedded systems, communication platforms, backend services, and web, mobile, and desktop applications.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for defining the organization's QA vision, driving automation excellence, implementing best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, product, customers, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement end-to-end QA strategy across embedded systems, communication platforms, backend services, and web/mobile/desktop applications.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering teams to develop comprehensive testing strategies and quality plans.
- Review product architecture and technical designs to ensure complete and effective test coverage.
- Design, develop, and scale robust automation frameworks.
- Drive test automation initiatives using Selenium and modern automation practices.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Establish QA processes, quality gates, release criteria, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Lead product validation, verification, testing, and certification activities.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC/IEEE standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for QA strategies, automation frameworks, test plans, and test results.
- Represent the QA organization during customer interactions, audits, and external stakeholder engagements.
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing QA teams while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with significant expertise in test automation.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience leading QA teams or QA organizations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium or similar automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience testing embedded systems and communication systems.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading QA across multiple product lines.
- Experience with performance, security, and API testing.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and modern DevOps ecosystems.
- Experience working in regulated or standards-driven environments.
