Engineer – Remote Accessibility & PSES System Maintenance (SYNC3000 / SYNC2000, KPTCL Project)
Location: Bengaluru / Field Sites across Karnataka (KPTCL Substations)
Role Overview:
The Junior Engineer will support the operation and maintenance of the Remote Accessibility System (Automatic Disturbance Record Collection System) deployed across 144 substations under the KPTCL network. The system integrates SYNC3000 / SYNC2000 devices with protection relays, industrial network switches, and a Linux-based Control Centre running PSES (Power Station Enterprise Suite). This platform enables centralized monitoring, disturbance record collection, and relay configuration management.
The role involves assisting in monitoring system performance, supporting field maintenance activities, and troubleshooting communication issues between substations and the control centre. The engineer will coordinate with field teams and central monitoring personnel to ensure reliable data acquisition and system availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of SYNC3000 / SYNC2000 systems installed in substations.
- Monitor communication links between protection relays, network switches, and control centre servers.
- Assist in operating and supporting the Linux-based PSES control centre for disturbance record data collection.
- Identify and resolve connectivity or configuration issues in coordination with field engineers and support teams.
- Maintain records of relay firmware versions, configuration tools, and disturbance record logs.
- Support periodic system checks, updates, and documentation to ensure system reliability.
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.
- 0–1 year of experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of protection relays, IP networking, and Linux systems.
- Good documentation, analytical, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to substations across Karnataka.
