SRM Global Hospital, a premier multi-specialty healthcare institution in Chennai, is seeking a dedicated Consultant – Anesthesia with a Fellowship in Pain Management.
This dual-focus role is ideal for an anesthesiologist (1 to 6 years of experience) who wants to balance high-quality perioperative care in the Operation Theatre with running advanced interventions in an Outpatient/Inpatient Pain Management Clinic. You will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment alongside orthopedics, neurology, oncology, and spine surgery teams to deliver comprehensive acute and chronic pain solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Anesthesia Services: Administer safe general, regional, and local anesthesia across a wide range of surgical specialties. Conduct pre-anesthesia check-ups (PAC) and ensure optimized post-operative recovery.
- Pain Clinic Operations: Evaluate and manage outpatients and inpatients suffering from chronic pain conditions (e.g., cancer pain, neuropathic pain, spine/back pain, complex regional pain syndromes, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders).
- Interventional Pain Management: Perform advanced, image-guided (Ultrasound or Fluoroscopy/C-arm) pain interventions, including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, and joint/trigger point injections.
- Acute Pain Management: Oversee the hospital’s acute pain service (APS) to manage post-operative pain protocols and patient-controlled analgesia (PCA).
- Compliance & Quality: Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and ensure full compliance with NABH protocols, infection control guidelines, and patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: MD / DNB in Anesthesia followed by a recognized Fellowship in Pain Management (FIPM or equivalent).
- Experience: 1 to 6 years of post-qualification clinical experience, with demonstrable hands-on experience in interventional pain procedures.
- Registration: Valid registration with the Tamil Nadu Medical Council (or National Medical Commission).
- Skills: High proficiency in ultrasound-guided regional nerve blocks and interventional pain procedures; strong empathetic communication for counseling chronic pain patients.
Pay: ₹140,000.00 - ₹230,000.00 per month
