About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our Light Art Studio. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in electrical design, lighting systems, and project execution. This role involves collaborating with artists, designers, fabricators, and project managers to develop innovative light-based installations while ensuring safety, functionality, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems for custom lighting installations and light art projects.
- Prepare electrical drawings, wiring schematics, panel layouts, and technical documentation.
- Select appropriate electrical components, drivers, power supplies, controllers, cables, and protection devices.
- Perform load calculations and ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards.
- Coordinate with design, fabrication, and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Supervise electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and commissioning of installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues during fabrication, installation, and post-installation support.
- Integrate lighting control systems, including DMX, DALI, LED controllers, and other smart lighting technologies where applicable.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
- Maintain project documentation, bills of materials (BOM), inspection reports, and as-built drawings.
- Support prototype development and contribute to innovative lighting solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 4–5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in architectural lighting, entertainment lighting, art installations, exhibition design, or custom fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, power distribution, wiring practices, and lighting systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or similar electrical design software.
- Familiarity with LED lighting technologies, drivers, power supplies, and lighting control systems.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and installation best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel for site installations and project commissioning, if required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with programmable lighting systems and control protocols such as DMX or DALI.
- Exposure to kinetic installations, interactive lighting, or automation systems.
- Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, and microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with 3D design coordination and multidisciplinary project execution.
