Key Qualifications for Assistant Professor of Physiology (NMC):
- Medical Faculty: MD (Physiology) / DNB (Physiology) or equivalent postgraduate degree recognized by the NMC.
- Non-Medical Faculty: M.Sc. (Medical Physiology) along with a PhD in the subject (recognized by NMC) can be appointed, especially in departments with non-availability of medical faculty (up to a certain percentage).
- Experience:
- MD/DNB: At least 2 years of work experience in a recognized hospital/medical college after obtaining the degree.
- Non-Medical: Often requires similar or higher experience as mandated by the institute and NMC regulations.
- Required Training: Completion of the Basic Course in Medical Education Technology (MET) and Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) from NMC-designated institutions is mandatory.
- Registration: Mandatory registration with the State Medical Council/National Medical Register (for MBBS degree holders).
- Age Limit: Maximum age for faculty is 70 years.
