Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and skilled Commis II – Bakery to join our culinary team at a leading 5-star business-class hotel in Trivandrum. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on bakery experience in a reputed hotel, bakery, or hospitality establishment. The candidate should possess strong technical baking skills, attention to detail, and a flair for creativity in producing high-quality bakery products that meet luxury hospitality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the preparation and production of breads, rolls, croissants, pastries, cakes, muffins, cookies, and other bakery items.
· Ensure consistency in taste, texture, appearance, and presentation of all bakery products.
· Support the Bakery Chef in developing new recipes and innovative bakery offerings.
· Maintain mise en place and ensure timely production as per operational requirements.
· Monitor quality, freshness, and storage of ingredients and finished products.
· Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and food presentation guidelines.
· Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
· Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
· Assist in inventory control and minimize wastage.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery section at all times.
· Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods.
Requirements Education & Qualifications
· Diploma or Certificate in Bakery, Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or Hotel Management preferred.
· Food Safety and Hygiene certification will be an advantage.
Experience
· Minimum 2 years of experience as a Commis II Bakery, Commis I Bakery, or similar role in a hotel, luxury bakery, café, or hospitality environment.
· Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of bakery production techniques and ingredients.

· Good understanding of baking temperatures, fermentation, dough handling, and finishing techniques.
