Job Summary
Kalyanam Karoti is seeking an experienced and responsible MBBS Doctor – Residential Medical Officer (RMO) with hands-on experience in multispecialty hospital care, ICU management and emergency services.
The doctor will be responsible for providing round-the-clock medical support to admitted patients, handling emergency situations, monitoring ICU and critically ill patients, coordinating with consultants and ensuring timely medical intervention whenever required.
The candidate should be comfortable with residential/on-call duties and should have strong clinical judgment, communication and emergency management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical care and supervision to admitted patients.
- Attend to emergency and critical cases promptly.
- Monitor patients in ICU and other critical-care areas.
- Assess patients and initiate appropriate emergency management.
- Conduct regular rounds and monitor patient condition and treatment response.
- Coordinate with specialist and consultant doctors for patient management.
- Respond immediately to medical emergencies and clinical deterioration.
- Manage common emergency conditions and stabilize patients before specialist intervention.
- Monitor vital signs, clinical investigations and treatment progress.
- Review laboratory and diagnostic reports and communicate significant findings to consultants.
- Maintain accurate patient case sheets, treatment notes and medical records.
- Ensure proper documentation of all emergency interventions and clinical decisions.
- Monitor medication orders and ensure appropriate implementation as prescribed.
- Coordinate with nursing staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
- Provide medical guidance during night shifts and emergency situations.
- Manage referrals, transfers and escalation of critical patients when required.
- Ensure timely communication with patients' attendants regarding the patient's clinical condition, as appropriate.
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, infection-control practices and patient-safety standards.
- Participate in code/emergency response and resuscitation activities as trained and authorized.
- Ensure proper handover of patients and pending clinical issues between shifts.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards of medical practice.
- Assist hospital administration in maintaining smooth clinical operations.
ICU & Emergency Responsibilities
The candidate should have practical exposure to:
- ICU patient monitoring
- Emergency patient assessment and stabilization
- Basic and advanced resuscitation support as appropriately trained
- Management of acute medical emergencies
- Oxygen therapy and airway management
- ECG interpretation and initial emergency assessment
- Management of critically ill patients under consultant guidance
- Coordination during emergency referrals and transfers
- Monitoring patients on ventilatory/critical-care support as per competency and hospital protocols
- Emergency documentation and clinical handover
Multispecialty Hospital Experience
Experience working in a multispecialty hospital with exposure to departments such as Medicine, Surgery, ICU, Emergency, Orthopaedics and other clinical specialties will be preferred.

Educational Qualification
Essential: MBBS from a recognized medical institution.
Mandatory: Valid medical registration with the applicable State Medical Council / National Medical Commission requirements.
Preferred: Relevant experience in ICU, Emergency Medicine, multispecialty hospital or critical-care services.
Experience
2–5 years of relevant hospital experience preferred.
Candidates with strong experience in ICU, emergency medicine, multispecialty hospital services and residential/on-call medical duties will be given preference.
