Job Summary
The Assistant Account Manager will be responsible for managing the company's accounting and financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting business decisions through financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in import-export accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, audits, and financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounts department.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Handle end-to-end bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Accounts, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Manage import-export accounting, including export incentives, foreign remittances, shipping documentation, and related reconciliations.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and payroll-related accounting.
- Handle GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Prepare and file tax returns and ensure adherence to regulatory deadlines.
- Coordinate with auditors for internal audits, statutory audits, and tax audits.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and working capital requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports and provide financial insights to management for strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with banks, tax authorities, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, taxation laws, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- CA Inter, CMA, M.Com, or equivalent accounting qualification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance roles.
- Proven experience in Import & Export Accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Financial Reporting.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime, MS Excel, and other accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Jewellery Manufacturing or Export Industry.
- Knowledge of foreign currency transactions and export documentation.
- Experience handling audits and statutory compliance independently.
- Leadership experience in managing accounts teams.
