Job Description – MYP Mathematics Teacher
Curriculum: IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Position Overview
The MYP Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy. The role focuses on developing students' problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical skills through inquiry-based and concept-driven learning. The teacher will foster international-mindedness and support the holistic development of students.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in MYP Mathematics.
- Use inquiry-based and student-centered teaching strategies.
- Develop students' skills in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and data interpretation.
- Encourage critical thinking, conceptual understanding, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.
Curriculum Planning
- Design unit plans aligned with the IB MYP framework, including Key Concepts, Global Contexts, and ATL Skills.
- Incorporate interdisciplinary connections and real-life applications of mathematics.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Assessment and Reporting
- Develop and implement formative and summative assessments based on IB MYP criteria.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and parents.
Student Development
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Promote international-mindedness and appreciation of diverse perspectives.
- Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Collaboration and Professional Development
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership.
- Participate in IB training, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Contribute to school events, enrichment programs, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in an international curriculum (IB experience preferred).
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Deep understanding of mathematical concepts and effective teaching methodologies.
- Knowledge of the IB MYP framework and inquiry-based learning practices.
- Ability to integrate educational technology, graphing tools, and digital resources into teaching.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
