Shift Timing: 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM / 6:30 PM to 4:30 AM (Depending on client requirements)
Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Legal Operations Specialist to support US-based legal teams. The role involves managing critical legal processes, including drafting and issuing legal holds, preparing engagement letters for counsel, and coordinating settlement check requests. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US legal standards, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Holds
- Draft and issue legal hold notices in compliance with US litigation and eDiscovery requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure timely implementation.
- Track and maintain accurate records of legal hold acknowledgments.
Engagement Letters
- Prepare and review engagement letters for external counsel in accordance with US legal and ethical standards.
- Ensure accuracy of scope, fee arrangements, and compliance with company policies.
- Liaise with counsel and internal teams for approvals and execution.
Settlement Check Requests
- Prepare documentation for settlement payments and ensure compliance with US settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with finance teams for timely processing and tracking of payments.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports for audit and compliance purposes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of US litigation procedures, FRCP, and eDiscovery obligations.
- Excellent legal drafting and communication skills.
- Familiarity with contract law, engagement terms, and settlement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and legal document management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Exterro).
- Familiarity with compliance tools and workflow management systems.
Qualifications
- Law degree (LL.B or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- 3–5 years of experience in litigation support, corporate legal operations, or a law firm environment handling US matters.
- Exposure to legal hold processes, engagement documentation, and settlement workflows.
Preferred Certifications
- ACEDS (Certified eDiscovery Specialist).
- IAPP (Privacy Certification) or similar compliance certifications.
Key Competencies
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
