Job Summary
The Optician / Vision Technician is responsible for conducting vision screening and basic eye examinations, maintaining accurate patient records, assisting doctors during eye assessments, and ensuring proper functioning of ophthalmic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual acuity testing (distance and near vision) using Snellen/E chart.
- Perform color vision testing using Ishihara charts.
- Conduct depth perception and peripheral vision screening (if applicable).
- Record vision results accurately in the health management system.
- Identify abnormal findings and refer patients to the Medical Officer or Ophthalmologist.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of vision testing equipment.
- Educate patients on eye care, vision correction, and spectacle usage.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement of the vision screening area.
- Follow SOPs, quality standards, and infection control protocols.
- Assist during health camps and corporate health screening programs.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of vision screening procedures.
- Ability to operate eye testing equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge for data entry.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma/Bachelor's in Optometry or Ophthalmic Techniques.
- Registration with the State Optometry Council (if applicable).
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience in vision screening or eye care.
- Freshers may apply.
Location: Raigarh (Chhatisgarh)
Salary: Negotiable based on experience
Duty Timing: 8 Hours per day (As per roster)
