POSITION OVERVIEW:
Work Mode: Full-time, On-site Progress IT Institute is looking for a confident and student-focused Admission Counselor to guide prospective students, explain course options, manage inquiries, and convert leads into admissions. The ideal candidate should have experience in the education industry and a minimum of 1 year of experience in admissions counseling, telecounseling, education sales, or student advisory roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Counsel students and working professionals about suitable IT training programs based on their background, goals, and career plans. Handle inbound and outbound inquiries generated through calls, walk-ins, websites, social media, Meta ads, Google leads, and referrals. Explain course details, curriculum, training process, fees, batch schedules, placement support, and career opportunities clearly and professionally. Follow up with leads regularly through calls, WhatsApp, email, and CRM to improve admission conversion. Convert interested candidates into enrollments while maintaining a student-first counseling approach. Maintain accurate lead status, follow-up notes, admission records, payment updates, and daily reports. Coordinate with trainers, the sales team, the placement team, and management for student queries and batch-related information. Build trust with students and parents by answering questions, resolving doubts, and providing correct information. Invite students for demo sessions, counseling visits, and institute walk-ins to improve admission closures. Achieve assigned monthly admission and revenue targets with proper follow-up discipline.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 1 year of experience in admission counselling, education sales, tele-counselling, student counselling, or related roles. Experience in the education industry, training institute, edtech, coaching, or skill-development sector is required/preferred. A graduate degree in any discipline; a business, commerce, HR, or management background will be an added advantage. Strong communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi preferred. Good counseling, convincing, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Basic knowledge of MS Office, Google Sheets, CRM tools, and WhatsApp-based follow-up communication. Target-oriented mindset with discipline, patience, confidence, and a positive attitude
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Prior experience in IT training, SAP training, cloud/DevOps courses, software courses, career counseling, or placement-oriented education programs. Ability to understand student profiles and suggest suitable courses based on education, experience, and career goals. Comfortable handling daily calling, lead follow-ups, counseling sessions, walk-ins, and admission discussions. Ability to work with monthly targets while maintaining ethical and transparent counseling practices. Knowledge of digital lead sources such as Instagram, Facebook, Google Ads, LinkedIn, website inquiries, and referral leads will be useful.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
Monthly admissions and revenue achievement. Lead follow-up quality and response time. Lead-to-walk-in, lead-to-demo, and lead-to-admission conversion ratio. Accuracy of CRM updates, admission records, and daily reporting. Student satisfaction, counseling quality, and query resolution effectiveness.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Progress IT Institute. The position requires strong communication, daily follow-up discipline, student-focused counselling, and the ability to work in a fast-paced education and admissions environment
Pay: ₹11,535.39 - ₹20,000.00 per month
