We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager with a strong FMCG sales background to drive business growth within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate should possess proven experience in distributor management, market expansion, sales team leadership, and achieving revenue targets while ensuring excellent market execution and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Appoint, manage, and strengthen distributors and retail networks within the assigned territory.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
- Lead, motivate, train, and monitor the performance of the field sales team.
- Ensure effective product availability, visibility, merchandising, and promotional execution across all retail channels.
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends, and recommend appropriate business strategies.
- Conduct regular market visits to strengthen distributor and retailer relationships.
- Review sales performance, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain healthy distributor accounts.
- Coordinate with marketing and other internal departments to support sales initiatives and product launches.
- Maintain high standards of sales discipline, reporting, and compliance with company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Marketing is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 2 years in an Area Sales Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- Experience in handling distributors, channel sales, and retail market development is mandatory.
- Experience in the tea, food & beverages, or consumer products industry will be an added advantage.
