Job Summary

The Claims Representative handles customer-submitted claims related to services provided by Moving Place, Porch Moving Group, Hire a Helper, Moving Staffers, Simple Moving Labor, and all similar platformed business units. This role focuses on damage(s) sustained during services to customers' household goods (HHG), property damage (PD), and damage-related service issues, investigating each claim while communicating with customers and Move Service Providers (MSPs) to resolve cases accurately and promptly. Sitting within our Consumer Services Group and reporting to a Claims Supervisor and, ultimately, the Customer Service Manager, this role plays a key part in supporting Moving Place, Porch Moving Group, HireAHelper, Moving Staffers, and Simple Moving Labor. The goal is to be a satisfied customer and have a fair outcome for all parties, in line with the company's Terms of Service.
What You Will Do As A Claims Representative
Bachelor's degree
Receive, document, and manage assigned claims from start to resolution
Investigate claims by requesting and reviewing move details, photos, crew notes, and customer statements to determine what happened
Determine appropriate resolutions (repair, replacement, reimbursement, discount, etc.) within approved guidelines and timelines set for the department
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and MSPs throughout the claims process, including next steps and timelines
Process approved compensation, discounts, or account adjustments accurately
Keep detailed, accurate notes on every claim and all related communications
Identify recurring issues and report trends to management for process improvement
Escalate complex or high-risk claims to a supervisor when needed
Stay active and responsive on team communication channels
Support special projects and new-hire training as assigned
Provide excellent service by phone and email
What You Will Bring As A Claims Representative
U.S. Customer Claims, Customer Service, or Moving Industry experience (1+ years)
Experience with Microsoft Office/Google Suite (Word, Excel, Slides, Sheets)
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple open claims at once
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
Accurate data entry and basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing)
Positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and Move Service Providers at all times
Ability to access and act quickly on workflows so that every claim is addressed promptly
Willingness to learn from and accept feedback, with a committed work ethic
Proven experience working with US based business teams
Excellent written and communication skills in English language
This role requires full and ongoing overlap with Porch's U.S. Central Time business hours (11:30 PM IST – 7:00 AM IST). A Night Shift Allowance is applicable for this position in line with company policy.

Pay Range: ₹475,000 – ₹500,000 INR annually
