About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead business development, channel sales expansion, and customer acquisition initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic partnerships, expanding distribution networks, and managing key customer relationships. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Operations
- Build, mentor and lead a high-performing sales team.
- Set sales targets, monitor performance, and provide regular coaching and guidance.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Operations, Production, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Support to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, forecasts, and business performance reviews for management.
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Generate and manage sales leads through direct sales, channel partners, referrals, and digital platforms.
- Explore and develop e-commerce and online sales channels to increase market reach and sales performance.
- Prepare and implement strategic sales plans to achieve organizational goals and targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
Channel Sales & Distribution Network Development
- Establish, expand, and manage distributor, dealer, super stockist, and channel partner networks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with channel partners to maximize business opportunities.
- Identify new markets and territories for business expansion.
- Ensure effective implementation of channel sales strategies across assigned regions.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Understand customer requirements and provide timely and effective solutions.
- Handle customer inquiries, quotations, negotiations, and contract discussions professionally.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and support.
Client Meetings & Market Representation
- Plan and conduct client meetings, presentations, product demonstrations, and site visits.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, trade fairs, and networking forums.
- Maintain a professional image while interacting with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and Channel Sales.
- Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed sales targets.
- Experience in establishing and managing distributors, dealers, and channel partner networks.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM software, and sales reporting tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to travel as required for business development activities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 5–8 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Marketing, or Channel Sales.
- Experience in Electrical, Industrial Products, Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Energy, or related industries will be preferred.
- Demonstrated success in developing new markets and expanding customer base.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in handling key accounts and large-scale business opportunities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
