Packaging Coordinator - SKF Automotive Business
We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of Packaging Coordinator. This role will be based in Pune (MIDC Chakan) and will report to the Head - Warehouse & Logistics, India.
Purpose of the role:
The role of the Packaging Coordinator will oversee and manage packaging operations across both trading and manufacturing activities and manage customer specific related packaging activities.
Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role)
- Strategic Packaging Management: Oversee and optimize packaging operations for both manufactured and traded goods.
- Material Procurement & Inventory: Manage supplier relationships, negotiate costs, and ensure adequate stock of packaging materials.
- Quality & Compliance: Guarantee packaging meets product specifications, branding standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Implement lean practices to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lower costs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to align packaging with delivery schedules.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of packaging standards, batch details, and compliance audits.
- Team Leadership: Supervise packaging staff, provide training, and ensure adherence to safety and sustainability practices.
- Innovation: Introduce new packaging technologies and eco-friendly solutions to enhance product presentation and sustainability.
- Oversee daily packaging activities and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Maintain accurate documentation of packaging specifications, batch records, and compliance reports.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to resolve material quality or supply issues.
Requirements (or We expect you to have/be)
- Minimum 5 to 10 years, Prior experience in packaging coordination or a similar role
- Relevant academic background or degree in Packaging and Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, machinery, and industry standards.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
- Proficiency in ERP or packaging management systems.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced Excel.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written, as the role involves working in a cross functional team.
