Ranjini Textiles is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Fabric Cutter / Cutting Master to join our production team. The candidate will be responsible for fabric planning, marker layout, fabric cutting, and ensuring accurate cutting as per production requirements. The role requires strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric handling, and production processes to minimize wastage and maintain quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review production orders, patterns, and specifications before cutting.
- Plan fabric consumption and optimize marker placement to reduce wastage.
- Lay fabrics accurately according to cutting requirements.
- Perform manual or machine cutting of fabrics as per approved patterns and measurements.
- Verify fabric quality, grain alignment, and shade consistency before cutting.
- Ensure cut panels are properly bundled, labeled, and issued to the stitching department.
- Coordinate with the production team to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Monitor fabric utilization and report shortages, defects, or discrepancies.
- Maintain cutting tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- Follow workplace safety and quality standards at all times.
- Assist in production planning and workflow management when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Fabric Cutter, Cutting Master, or similar role in garment manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of garment patterns, measurements, and fabric properties.
- Ability to read technical specifications and production sheets.
- Knowledge of marker planning and fabric utilization techniques.
- Experience handling woven, knitted, and specialty fabrics.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in apparel, home textiles, or uniform manufacturing.
- Familiarity with industrial cutting equipment.
- Basic knowledge of production planning and quality control.
