Job Purpose
To manage and control the complete production operations, ensuring target achievement, quality, productivity, cost control, manpower utilization, and timely dispatch while maintaining safety and process standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets as per PPC requirements.
- Manage complete production activities including fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, paint shop, and final inspection.
- Ensure production targets are achieved with optimum manpower, machines, and material utilization.
- Monitor OEE, productivity, rejection, rework, downtime, and production efficiency.
- Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Purchase, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch departments.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Reduce rejection, rework, scrap, and production losses.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, 5S, Kaizen, and safety procedures.
- Lead and motivate production supervisors, engineers, operators, and contract manpower.
- Monitor manpower requirements, shift planning, attendance, and workforce productivity.
- Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of production equipment in coordination with the Maintenance team.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze daily production reports and prepare MIS for management.
- Ensure timely completion of new product development / trial production in coordination with R&D and Quality.
- Maintain discipline and ensure safe working practices across the production floor.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production processes
- Experience in agriculture machinery / auto / engineering manufacturing
- Good knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining and assembly
- Strong manpower handling and team-management skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM and Poka-Yoke
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under production pressure and meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of ERP/SAP and MS Excel
Preferred Candidate
Candidates from agriculture implements, tractor/automotive components, fabrication, heavy engineering, or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.
Reporting To: Plant Head
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
