Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with 10+ years of experience and extensive expertise in FRNC5 software for the thermal design, rating, revamp, and optimization of refinery and petrochemical fired heaters. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating thermal designs, evaluating heater performance, optimizing combustion efficiency, and ensuring compliance with API 560 & API 530 and client specifications throughout proposal, detailed engineering, and project execution.
Hands-on experience with FRNC software is mandatory.
Principle Duties:
- Perform fired heater thermal design and rating using FRNC5.
- Optimize furnace & Convective section and overall heater efficiency.
- Material selection and Pressure drop calculations.
- Sizing expansion tank, oil cooler, oil pumps, slipstream filters and the associated oil system.
- Conduct heater rating, capacity verification, debottlenecking, revamp, coil replacement, fuel-switching, burner upgrade, thermal optimization, and efficiency improvement studies.
- Validate thermal performance against process guarantees and client specifications.
- Understanding project specifications, developing P&IDs, PFD, preparing equipment specifications like Burners, relief valves, process valves, control valves, Shut Off Valves, Fans etc. Fuel gas, fuel oil line sizing, Duct sizing, design of Air preheaters
- Preparation of Bill of Quantity and developing cost.
- Preparation of Techno-commercial offer during bidding stage.
- Discussion with customer during bidding and execution stage, attending HAZOP.

- Review customer specifications and perform heater sizing.
- Support during bidding stage with heater design, prepare bill of quantity, developing cost,
- Preparation of techno-commercial offer.
- Review vendor documentation and participate in HAZOP and design reviews.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Combustion, C&I, Electrical, and Project Engineering teams.
- Support commissioning, performance testing, troubleshooting, and operational optimization
Candidates must have hands-on experience in:
- FRNC5 design software
- Fired Heater Thermal Design & Rating
- Heater Revamp & Debottlenecking
- Operational Troubleshooting
- Design and knowledge of the expansion tank, oil cooler, oil pumps, slipstream filters and the associated oil system
Strong understanding of:

- Ability to independently execute fired heater thermal design and optimization projects.
- Experience leading technical discussions with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
