Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception through completion. The role involves cost estimation, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, cost control, valuation, and ensuring projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract Activities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare tender submissions and bid documentation.
- Support contract negotiations and award processes.
Post-Contract Management
- Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
- Prepare and certify interim payment applications.
- Evaluate and process subcontractor invoices and claims.
- Manage variations, change orders, and additional work valuations.
- Conduct cost forecasting and cash flow analysis.
- Prepare monthly commercial reports and project cost summaries.
Contract Administration
- Administer contracts in accordance with project requirements.
- Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Manage claims, disputes, and extension-of-time submissions.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation.
- Tender management
Quantity Surveying & Cost Control
- Perform quantity measurements and verification.
- Monitor material usage and wastage control.
- Analyze project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs.
- Track procurement costs and project progress.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain project commercial documentation and records.
- Prepare project closeout reports and final accounts.
- Support internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
