An admission counsellor acts as the primary link between prospective students and educational institutions. They guide students through the application process, provide career and course counseling, and help evaluate academic eligibility. Their ultimate goal is to match students with the right educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Outreach & Engagement: Serve as the first point of contact for inquiries, conduct campus tours, and represent the institution at educational fairs and school visits.
- Application Assistance: Guide prospective students through the application process, ensuring all documents (transcripts, test scores) are accurate and submitted on time. [
- Academic & Career Counseling: Evaluate student backgrounds and interests to recommend suitable courses, scholarships, and career pathways.
- Eligibility & Interviews: Conduct interviews and assess academic credentials to determine if the applicant is the right fit for the institution.
- Data Management: Track applicant progress and manage inquiries using Student Information Systems or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
