Job Summary
The Assistant Store Keeper assists in managing the restaurant's inventory by receiving, storing, issuing, and recording food, beverages, cleaning supplies, packaging materials, and other operational items. The role ensures stock is handled properly, inventory records are accurate, and materials are available for smooth day-to-day restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Assist in receiving deliveries and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, expiry dates, and freshness.
- Store items according to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Label and organize inventory for easy identification and retrieval.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) inventory practices.
- Monitor stock levels and report low-stock or overstock situations.
Stock Issuing
- Issue food ingredients, beverages, disposables, cleaning materials, and other supplies to kitchen and restaurant departments against authorized requisitions.
- Record all stock movements accurately in the inventory system or stock registers.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid operational delays.
Stock Control
- Assist in daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts.
- Help reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Report shortages, damages, spoilage, or discrepancies immediately.
- Monitor slow-moving and near-expiry items and inform management.
Store Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store area.
- Ensure proper storage temperatures for chilled and frozen products.
- Keep storage racks, refrigerators, and freezers clean and well organized.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Documentation
- Maintain records of goods received, stock issued, transfers, and returns.
- File supplier invoices, delivery notes, and stock documents properly.
- Assist in preparing inventory and consumption reports.
Coordination
- Coordinate with the purchasing department regarding shortages.
- Work closely with kitchen staff and restaurant supervisors to ensure timely supply of materials.
- Support management during audits and inventory inspections.
Pay: ₹8,000.00 - ₹14,000.00 per month
