Job Summary
Aruna Promoters is looking for skilled and dedicated Marine Fabricators to join our shipbuilding projects in Kochi. We are seeking candidates with experience in marine fabrication, shipbuilding, ship repair, or structural steel fabrication. Candidates from structural fabrication industries with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. Freshers with the required technical qualifications and a willingness to learn are welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Measure, mark, cut, bevel, grind, and fit steel plates, pipes, and structural sections.
- Fabricate and assemble ship structures, hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and other marine components.
- Perform structural fitting, alignment, and assembly as per project specifications.
- Work closely with welders, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to ensure quality standards.
- Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and shipyard regulations.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
Eligibility & Experience
- 2–10 years of experience in Marine Fabrication, Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Offshore Fabrication, or Structural Steel Fabrication is preferred.
- Candidates with structural fabrication experience from heavy engineering or steel fabrication industries are also encouraged to apply.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications and a strong interest in the marine industry can also apply.
Educational Qualification
- ITI in Fitter, Marine Fitter, Fabricator, Sheet Metal Worker, or Welder from a recognised institute.
- NCVT/SCVT certification is preferred.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of structural and marine fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with fabrication tools, measuring instruments, and cutting equipment.
- Basic understanding of welding and fitting processes.
- Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and willing to work in a shipyard environment.
