Electrical Technician
Job Summary:
The Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, installing, and maintaining electrical panels, control systems, and related equipment at ORAIPL. The role involves hands-on work in panel wiring, field installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring adherence to electrical drawings, safety standards, and quality requirements. The position requires strong technical skills, precision, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to support production and project execution.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Panel Wiring & Assembly
- Assemble and wire control panels, MCCs, and automation panels as per engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Identify, mark, and terminate wires and components correctly according to schematics.
- Install electrical accessories like switches, relays, MCBs, contactors, PLCs, VFDs, and meters.
- Ensure neat and standardized wiring practices in all electrical panels.
2. Installation & Commissioning Support
- Assist in the installation of electrical panels, cabling, and field wiring at project sites.
- Support engineers during commissioning of automation and electrical systems.
- Conduct electrical terminations, cable tray routing, and earthing as per design and safety standards.
- Perform continuity checks, insulation tests, and functional testing before energizing systems.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical panels, motors, control systems, and instruments.
- Identify faults and carry out troubleshooting in wiring, controls, and power circuits.
- Support service teams in attending to breakdowns or customer complaints.
- Replace or repair defective components as instructed by the electrical engineer or manager.
4. Quality & Safety Compliance
- Follow standard electrical wiring practices and company quality procedures.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards (IS/IEC).
- Use proper PPE and tools during all electrical and site activities.
- Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment faults immediately.
5. Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain job cards, wiring checklists, and inspection reports for completed panels.
- Update engineers on daily progress and material requirements.
- Support QA/QC inspections and incorporate feedback for improvement.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
6. Material & Inventory Management
- Verify receipt of electrical materials and components as per bill of materials (BOM).
- Inform the purchase or stores team about shortages or damaged materials.
- Ensure efficient use of materials and minimize wastage during wiring and installation.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, panel assembly, and testing procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and circuit diagrams.
- Familiarity with industrial control components (contactors, relays, PLCs, VFDs, MCCBs, etc.).
- Hands-on experience in panel wiring, motor connections, and cable termination.
- Good understanding of industrial safety practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
Qualification & Experience:
- Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: Freshers can apply. Internship or hands-on experience in electrical panel wiring, assembly, and industrial electrical systems will be preferred.
- Preferred: Experience with PLC panels, MCC panels, and on-site electrical installation.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹14,000.00 per month
