Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician with hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, carrying out preventive maintenance activities, and ensuring smooth functioning of plant machinery to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBreakdown Maintenance
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical breakdowns of plant machinery and equipment.
- Attend emergency machine failures and restore operations within the shortest possible time.
- Identify root causes of recurring breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities as per maintenance plans.
- Inspect machinery regularly to identify wear and tear and prevent potential failures.
- Maintain maintenance records and service reports.
Machinery & Equipment Maintenance
- Repair, service, and maintain industrial machinery such as CNC machines, motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, presses, and related equipment.
- Ensure proper lubrication, alignment, calibration, and functioning of machines.
Electrical Maintenance
- Maintain electrical panels, wiring systems, motors, switches, and industrial control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure safe operation of equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
- Monitor availability of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
- Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for timely replenishment.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all plant safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Team Coordination
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Required Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery and manufacturing plant operations.
- Ability to read technical manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure during breakdown situations.
Qualifications & Experience
- ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Fitter, Electrician, or related trade.
- Minimum 5–6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Proven experience in handling both mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
- Exposure to CNC machines and industrial equipment will be an added advantage.
Working Conditions
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts as required.
- Availability for emergency breakdown support when necessary.
