Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for performing accounting services for clients. Individuals in this role should demonstrate a basic understanding of business operations and accounting systems as well as a basic familiarity of accounting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Perform recurring transactional accounting responsibilities, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements and payroll transactions
- Perform monthly close procedures, bank reconciliations, sales reconciliations, and system financial statement preparation
- Research and solve more complex accounting issues
- Identify and anticipate problem areas and work to provide solutions
- Assist with clients’ QuickBooks or similar software
- Assist with updating asset/depreciation schedules
- Assist with preparation of work papers and journal entries for clients related to but not limited to investments, deferred revenue, payroll and other items for accrual, such as insurance, property tax, and other pre-paid expenses
- Perform reconciliations and tie out period-end trial balance accounts
- Keep supervisors/managers apprised of assignments and scheduling issues on a timely basis
- Demonstrate a deeper understanding of business operations and accounting systems
- Assume responsibility for assigned engagements with supervision from more experienced staff
- Work closely with more experienced staff to identify and resolve issues encountered in performance of various types of assignments through effective and timely communication
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship and demonstrate effective communication with client and US team personnel at appropriate levels
- Maintain appropriate professionalism in client and team interactions
- Possess effective and clear work paper techniques
- Demonstrate an aptitude for budget and deadline considerations and strive for adherence.
- Experience developing improved processes and efficiencies and deploying these processes on existing clients
- Work with direct report manager to develop an appropriate plan of professional development and take responsibility to ensure that plan is executed
- In reference to carrying out their professional responsibilities, be familiar with and adhere to the relevant ethical requirements of the AICPA, as outlined in the Code of Professional Conduct, as well as those of state accountancy boards and professional societies for which any licenses are held.
Corporate Compliance Responsibilities
Understand and adhere to the Firm’s policies and procedures, as well as applicable professional standards. Participate in training and evaluation of knowledge of and adherence to the firm’s compliance policies and procedures specific to the job level.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or another relevant field required
- CPA candidate or qualified for other relevant accounting certification, such as CMA, CGMA or CFA
Skills:
- Basic familiarity with accounting standards
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred
- Experience with use of Bill.com integrated with QuickBooks or other programs.
- Experience with Desktop QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50 (Peachtree), Xero, etc.
- Experience preparing financial statements using US GAAP or other basis of accounting
- Knowledge of US GAAP and standards related to compiled financial statements
- Experience with Excel at an intermediate level including understanding and ability to use pivot tables, V-Lookups, H-Lookups, If/then statements, etc.
- Experience in writing instructions for client tasks and company tasks that can be used as guidelines, checklists, training, etc. for clients and employees
