The Team
Through continued growth comes more demand for business insights and data used to make objective decisions. To support this need and help maintain operational efficiency, A&M has invested in growing its Business Intelligence Unit (BIU). The BIU creates and maintains scalable data pipelines, constructs analysis, delivers process improvement initiatives and builds visualization tools and applications. The unit is also focused on embedding AI into its own ways of working to drive efficiency, and on enabling the business to apply AI to the data assets the team provides. All with the goal of supporting the firm to realize operational efficiencies identified through analysis. The BIU operates across multiple geographies and practice areas, supporting decision-making for senior stakeholders across the firm. The Insight Optimisation team is responsible for the ongoing health, evolution, and optimization of the firm's core reporting products. The team manages report consistency, user experience, backend data model improvements, documentation, troubleshooting, and enhancement requests. The team mission is to provide a seamless user experience to the business whilst reducing long-term operational overhead through prioritising consistency, consolidation, and a focus on action-driven insights.
How you will contribute
The Business Intelligence Unit is seeking a motivated Associate to join the Insight Optimisation team based in India. Reporting to the Manager of Insight Optimisation, the Associate will play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving the firm's existing core reporting suite, supporting business users, and contributing to the transition to a new Snowflake data environment.
This is a delivery-focused role for someone with strong technical foundations in Power BI and SQL, a curiosity for how data is used across a business, and the discipline to work through complex troubleshooting scenarios. The successful candidate will spend their time building improvements to existing reports, investigating data issues, maintaining documentation, and working directly with business users to understand and deliver on their needs. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working across the analytics stack, curious about how AI can enhance their work, and eager to develop their skills in a global, fast-paced environment.
- Review report usage statistics and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve formatting, usability, and consistency across the reporting suite.
- Implement improvements to existing reports and dashboards, applying user-centred design principles to enhance the end-user experience.
- Review dashboard refresh times and backend data models, identifying and applying efficiency improvements in how data is brought into the reporting layer.
- Maintain user guides, definition lists, and technical documentation as new tabs and data sources are added over time.
- Triage and troubleshoot queries received through the BIU inbox, systematically diagnosing whether issues sit at the reporting layer, database level, or source level.
- Escalate complex or cross-layer issues appropriately and work collaboratively with the wider team to resolve them.
- Support the transition of existing reports to the new Snowflake environment, repointing reports and testing to ensure continuity of service for business users.
- Apply AI and generative AI tools to accelerate day-to-day delivery, and ongoing maintenance.
- Communicate clearly with business users on the status of their requests, expected timelines, and any technical constraints.
- Contribute to team-wide initiatives to improve ways of working, share knowledge, and raise the collective technical standard of the team
- Keep up to date with the latest tools and techniques in BI, analytics, and AI, and apply them where they can add value
