About The Role:
At ListenTBH, we produce stories that feel lived-in, comforting, funny, messy, nostalgic, romantic - and deeply shareable.
We’re looking for a full-time Writer who understands internet-native storytelling and can build characters, moments, and emotional hooks that people instantly connect with. Someone who can write bingeable episodes, think in short-form narrative, and contribute to performances rooted in realism.
This role sits across both:
- ListenTBH Originals
- Brand-led storytelling / collaborations
You’ll work closely with the core creative team to develop concepts, write scripts, support shoots, and contribute to the evolving voice of ListenTBH as we scale.
What you’ll do:
- Write episodic mini series, serialized formats, and short-form fiction
- Develop concepts for Originals and branded storytelling
- Support or direct shoots when required, especially performance-led, emotionally grounded scenes
- Work closely with actors, editors, and producers during production
- Pitch fresh formats, recurring characters, and internet-native story worlds
- Balance relatability, emotional honesty, humour, nostalgia, and entertainment
- Contribute to the creative direction and storytelling language of ListenTBH
- Understand platform behaviour - retention, hooks, pacing, and emotional payoff
- Collaborate on music references, visual language, and tone
What we’re looking for:
- Strong writing instincts for modern relationships, friendships, identity, and youth culture
- Someone who deeply understands Gen Z / young millennial emotional behaviour online
- Ability to write dialogue that feels natural, current, and memorable
- Experience in directing actors or visual storytelling is a huge plus
- Someone who consumes films, internet culture, music, creators, memes, and storytelling obsessively
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-output creative environment
- Strong taste and a clear creative point of view
Bonus if you:
- Have written and/or directed narrative content
- Notice tiny emotional moments people usually ignore
- Care about music in edits
- Understand that one line of dialogue can carry an entire episode
