Job Summary
A Junior Accountant is an entry-level financial professional who provides crucial analytical and operational support to the finance department. Operating under the direct supervision of a senior accountant or accounting manager, this role ensures organizational financial health by maintaining order, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across all daily business transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Data Management
- Post and process journal entries to compile and update chronological financial logs.
- Update and maintain the general ledger with accurate daily transactions.
- Input financial numbers into internal databases to ensure immediate data accessibility.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Review, verify, and execute timely payments for vendor invoices.
- Issue customer invoices and consistently track accounts receivable balances.
- Communicate with vendors and clients to quickly resolve billing discrepancies.
Reconciliation & Compliance
- Perform comprehensive monthly bank reconciliations to spot anomalies.
- Track and document company fixed assets alongside corresponding depreciation schedules.
- Assist senior staff with tax filings, VAT calculations, and statutory compliance.
Reporting & Audit Support
- Assist in preparing accurate balance sheets, income statements, and P&L reports.
- Collate and organize precise financial records for internal and external auditors.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience or a completed accounting internship.
Technical Skills
- High proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, or Oracle.
- Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel using VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and basic formulas.
- Strong understanding of basic GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
Soft Skills
- Meticulous attention to detail to minimize numerical errors.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple client accounts.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for cross-department collaboration.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
