Pet Groomer
We're looking for a skilled, animal-loving Pet Groomer to join PetPro and deliver safe, high-quality grooming services to our clients' pets. This role suits someone who's gentle with animals, meticulous with technique, and genuinely cares about the comfort and wellbeing of every pet they handle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts/trimming, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and de-matting for dogs, cats, and other pets as required
- Assess each pet's coat, skin, and temperament before grooming to choose appropriate techniques and products
- Handle pets calmly and safely, especially anxious, aggressive, senior, or unwell animals, using proper restraint and calming techniques
- Identify and flag skin conditions, parasites, lumps, wounds, or other health concerns to the veterinary team
- Maintain grooming equipment (clippers, scissors, dryers, tables) in clean, sanitized, and safe working condition
- Follow hygiene and safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination between pets
- Maintain grooming records for each pet, including services performed, products used, and any observations, in Excel/app-based tools
- Communicate with pet owners about their pet's grooming needs, coat/skin condition, and post-grooming care
- Coordinate with veterinary staff on pets requiring medicated baths or grooming as part of treatment plans
- Manage grooming schedules/appointments efficiently to minimize pet wait time and stress
- Upsell/recommend additional grooming or care services where appropriate
Requirements
- Prior experience as a professional pet groomer, ideally in a veterinary clinic, pet salon, or boarding facility
- Sound knowledge of different breed-specific grooming standards and coat types
- Comfortable and confident handling animals of varying temperaments and sizes
- Basic understanding of pet skin/coat health to spot issues needing veterinary attention
- Patient, calm, and gentle demeanor — genuine affinity for animals
- Proficiency in maintaining digital/app-based grooming and appointment records
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle pets of varying sizes and strength
Preferred
- Certification in pet grooming from a recognized institute
- Experience working alongside veterinary teams or in a multi-service pet care facility
- Familiarity with specialty grooming needs (senior pets, pets with skin conditions, show grooming)
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
