We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Zonal Audit Manager to oversee and manage the audit function for our housing loan operations across a designated zone. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and compliance of all housing loan processes, identifying potential risks, and implementing robust control measures. This role requires a strong understanding of housing finance regulations, excellent analytical skills, and proven leadership abilities to manage a team of auditors.
- Develop and execute comprehensive annual audit plans for housing loan branches and operations within the assigned zone, aligning with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and manage a team of internal auditors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality audit outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth audits of housing loan origination, underwriting, disbursement, collection, and recovery processes to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., RBI, NHB).
- Identify and assess operational, financial, and compliance risks within the housing loan portfolio, recommending effective mitigation strategies and control enhancements.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, suggesting improvements to strengthen the control environment and prevent fraud or errors.
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, observations, and actionable recommendations for management, ensuring clear, concise, and evidence-based communication.
- Follow up on audit observations and recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions by the respective business units.
- Investigate reported discrepancies, potential frauds, and non-compliance issues within the housing loan segment, providing objective analysis and recommendations.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulatory frameworks, industry best practices, and emerging risks relevant to the housing finance sector and integrate them into audit methodologies.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including business heads, risk management, and compliance teams, to foster a culture of strong internal controls and risk awareness.
- Present audit findings and recommendations to senior management and audit committees as required.
