Position Overview
The SAP ABAP Developer is responsible for supporting and enhancing SAP applications across on-premise systems and SAP BTP ABAP environments, with a strong emphasis on Application Management Services (AMS). The role focuses on ensuring system stability through timely resolution of incidents, root cause analysis, and delivery of bug fixes and minor enhancements.
Working closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders, the developer supports ongoing operations by managing incidents, service requests, and change activities within defined SLAs. They contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing code, maintaining development standards, and ensuring reliable system performance.
In addition to AMS responsibilities, the role also involves developing and extending SAP solutions using modern ABAP techniques, including exposure to SAP BTP, cloud-ready development models, and integration approaches, enabling scalable and future-ready enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the development and enhancement of SAP S/4HANA ABAP objects by implementing assigned tasks under the guidance of senior developers.
- Assist in Business‑As‑Usual (BAU) activities, including defect fixes, minor enhancements, and production support, following established processes and standards.
- Contribute to new project initiatives by building and modifying SAP S/4HANA ABAP objects while adhering to development guidelines and best practices.
- Review and approve technical designs, code, build artifacts, and technical documentation, ensuring quality, performance, security, and maintainability
- Maintain clear technical documentation for developed objects and changes, following team documentation standards.
- Actively participate in training, knowledge sharing sessions, and skill building activities to strengthen SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP capabilities
- Apply theoretical knowledge of SAP BTP ABAP concepts and cloud‑based development models in learning, prototyping, and supervised development activities.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Certification and/or Licenses
SAP Backend Developer – ABAP Cloud (Preferred)
SAP Backend Developer – Cloud Application Programming Model (Optional)
Experience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen
- 3-5 years of experience working with SAP ABAP in an enterprise environment
- Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA ABAP development through support or project work
- Theoretical knowledge or introductory exposure to SAP BTP ABAP concepts and cloud‑based extension models
Familiarity with modern ABAP programming paradigms and development standards. Basic business and functional understanding to follow requirements and implement assigned development tasks accurately
