Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sewing Production Manager to oversee and manage sewing operations within our garment manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, safety, and workforce productivity. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of garment construction, and experience managing sewing production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily sewing production activities.
- Ensure production schedules are met according to customer delivery requirements.
- Monitor line efficiency, productivity, and operator performance.
- Coordinate with cutting, finishing, quality control, maintenance, and planning departments.
- Implement methods to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
- Monitor garment quality throughout the sewing process and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Analyze production reports and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Manage manpower allocation and balance workloads across production lines.
- Train, coach, and develop sewing supervisors, line leaders, and operators.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
- Resolve production issues, quality concerns, and bottlenecks promptly.
- Monitor machine utilization and coordinate maintenance requirements.
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare performance reports for management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in garment manufacturing production management.
- Strong understanding of sewing operations, garment construction, production planning, and quality systems.
- Experience managing large sewing teams in a factory environment.
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines and workflow optimization.
- Ability to analyze production data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of SMV (Standard Minute Value), line balancing, and productivity measurement.
- Experience working with export garment manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with compliance standards and factory audits.
