Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Geometry & Gap/Flush Engineer to support vehicle development programs by driving dimensional quality, perceived quality, and geometry convergence activities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in gap & flush management, datum strategy development, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, section validation, and vehicle geometry engineering across interior and exterior systems.
This role requires close collaboration with Styling, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to ensure vehicle quality targets are achieved from concept through production launch.
Key ResponsibilitiesVehicle Geometry & Perceived Quality
- Develop and manage vehicle-level Gap & Flush requirements for interior and exterior components throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Define, maintain, and monitor section books and associated quality KPIs.
- Perform vehicle section analysis and geometry validation to ensure compliance with perceived quality targets.
- Validate perceived quality requirements using CAD tools such as CATIA V5 and Siemens NX.
- Lead target-setting and convergence workshops with Styling, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
Dimensional Engineering & Tolerance Analysis
- Conduct dimensional analysis and tolerance stack-up studies (1D & 3D).
- Define and review datum strategies for body structures, closures, and interior trim systems.
- Apply GD&T methodologies to achieve dimensional and functional requirements.
- Support convergence activities through design, prototype, and launch phases.
- Analyze dimensional variation and recommend corrective actions to improve vehicle quality.
Manufacturing & Launch Support
- Collaborate with Body Shop, General Assembly, and Manufacturing teams to ensure process capability and design feasibility.
- Support issue identification, root cause analysis, and resolution during development and launch phases.
- Monitor program quality metrics and provide regular convergence status updates to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to vehicle geometry and perceived quality.
Required Qualifications: Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–10 years of experience in Vehicle Geometry, Dimensional Engineering, Gap & Flush, or Perceived Quality within the automotive industry.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of vehicle-level Gap & Flush requirements.
- Experience in Datum Strategy Development for body, closure, and interior systems.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis (1D & 3D).
- Experience with Sheet Metal and Plastic Component Design & Manufacturing Processes.
- Understanding of Functional Tolerancing Methodologies.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, including:
- Body Shop
- General Assembly
- Vehicle Build & Launch Activities
- Proficiency in:
- CATIA V5
- Siemens NX
- Experience in geometry validation, section analysis, and dimensional convergence.

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
