Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CAD Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of expertise in preparing and managing CAD drawings for Highway and Structural engineering projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of highway design standards, structural detailing, and CAD/BIM workflows while supporting multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop detailed engineering drawings for highways, bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation structures.
- Produce plan, profile, cross-sections, grading, and structural detailing drawings as per project requirements.
- Coordinate with Highway Engineers, Structural Engineers, and other design disciplines to ensure design accuracy and consistency.
- Modify and update drawings based on engineering comments and project revisions.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, project standards, and applicable national/international design codes.
- Maintain drawing registers, document control, and version management.
- Perform quality checks to ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and free from drafting errors.
- Support BIM/CAD standards implementation and maintain drawing templates and libraries.
- Assist in quantity take-offs and preparation of as-built drawings where required.
- Mentor junior CAD technicians and ensure adherence to drafting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in CAD drafting for Highway and Structural engineering projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Experience with Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer is preferred.
- Knowledge of BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks will be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with highway design standards such as IRC, MoRTH, NHAI, or equivalent international standards.
- Strong understanding of structural detailing and reinforcement drawings.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in National Highway, Expressway, Metro, or Infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
