As a Senior Manager - Safety & Sustainability at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will be entrusted with leading and advising on comprehensive safety protocols throughout the plant. Key responsibilities include:

Advising on safety aspects across all operations, ensuring alignment with current legislation and industry best practices.

Performing detailed safety inspections jointly with safety committee members to identify hazards and assess risk potentials.

Carrying out tasks delegated by the Chief Safety Officer (CSO), maintaining diligent records of safety incidents, near misses, and corrective actions implemented.

Organising and supervising rigorous safety audits in coordination with departments, preparing comprehensive reports, and ensuring timely follow-up to address identified concerns.

Coordinating and facilitating scheduled testing and certification of lifting tools and tackles, pressure vessels, machinery, and equipment by certified personnel in compliance with MP factory regulations.

Driving a culture of continuous process assessment and improvement by promoting adherence to safety procedures and engaging cross-functional teams in safety initiatives.

Championing sustainability and safety integration, aligning with organisational leadership competencies to foster a safe, responsible, and environmentally conscious workplace.

The ideal candidate will possess a high level of educational attainment and relevant qualifications, including but not limited to:

A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field is essential.

Advanced qualifications such as a Master's degree or professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent) will be highly advantageous.

Thorough understanding of national and international health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing sectors, especially within the automotive and farm equipment industries.

Demonstrated knowledge of safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and audit protocols relevant to complex industrial settings.

8 to 10 years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety within manufacturing or automotive industries, demonstrating a robust understanding of operational safety dynamics.

Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote a safety-first culture and ensure regulatory compliance.
