Position description: Jindal Stainless Limited, a leader in the Mining & Metals industry, is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Mines - Electrical department. This role demands expertise in electrical systems within mining operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of electrical equipment and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and compliance with industry safety standards, contributing to uninterrupted mining activities and supporting the company’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment used in mining operations to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in mining machinery, power distribution networks, and control systems promptly and accurately.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, safety, and operations to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure integrated system reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs to support compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to electrical safety protocols and regulatory standards to protect personnel and equipment within the mining environment.
- Support the implementation of energy-efficient technologies and practices to optimize power consumption and reduce operational costs.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior electrical staff and contractors to enhance team capability and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in risk assessments and contribute to the development of emergency response plans related to electrical hazards in mining operations.
- Monitor and analyze electrical system performance data to identify trends and recommend proactive maintenance or upgrades.
