Job Description – SAP CO (Controlling) Consultant (7–9 Years Experience)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP CO (Controlling) Consultant with 7–9 years of hands-on experience to lead and support SAP CO processes across implementation and support engagements. The role involves end-to-end ownership of Controlling solutions, including system customization, solution design, testing, user support, and close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support SAP CO processes across implementation, rollout, and production support projects.
- Perform system configuration and customization within SAP CO modules, including Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Internal Orders (IO), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Product Costing (CO-PC), and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), as applicable.
- Design and deliver CO solutions aligned with business requirements and finance processes.
- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for CO configurations and enhancements.
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned CO activities and deliverables across all project phases (design, build, test, deploy, and support).
- Collaborate with FI, MM, SD, PP, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Controlling with upstream and downstream processes.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP CO solutions and functional specifications.
- Provide ongoing production support, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support period-end close activities, including cost allocations, settlements, overhead calculations, and reporting.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and controlling outputs in alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain functional documentation, configuration guides, test scripts, and user manuals.
- Support change requests, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives within the CO landscape.
- Participate in system upgrades, rollouts, and process harmonization initiatives.
- Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to junior consultants and business users as required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7–9 years of hands-on experience as an SAP CO (Controlling) Consultant.
- Strong functional expertise in core CO modules (CCA, IO, PCA, CO-PC, CO-PA).
- Proven experience in end-to-end SAP CO implementations and post-go-live support.
- Hands-on experience with CO configuration, testing, deployment, and user support.
- Good understanding of integration points between SAP CO and FI, MM, SD, and PP.
- Experience in financial reporting, period-end closing activities, and management reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex business scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with finance stakeholders and business users.
- Ability to take ownership of deliverables and work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with S/4HANA Finance (Controlling) is a plus.
- Exposure to SAP Fiori apps related to CO processes.
- Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager / ChaRM for change management.
- SAP CO / S/4HANA certifications.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
