We are inviting applications from passionate and qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Professor – Mechanical Engineering to be deployed at IIMT University, Meerut.
Job Summary
The Assistant Professor – Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting laboratory and practical sessions, mentoring students, supporting research and innovation, and contributing to the academic and administrative excellence of the department. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and research in Mechanical Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and practical classes in Mechanical Engineering.
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, laboratory manuals, and course materials.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, assignments, project evaluations, and viva examinations.
- Maintain attendance, academic records, and student performance through the ERP/LMS.
- Mentor students for academics, internships, research projects, competitions, higher education, and placements.
- Develop and update curriculum in accordance with university guidelines and current industry practices.
- Guide undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and final-year projects.
- Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, industrial visits, technical competitions, and engineering events.
- Participate in examination duties, paper setting, evaluation, invigilation, and academic administration.
- Contribute to research publications, conferences, patents, funded projects, consultancy, and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs).
- Support accreditation activities such as NAAC, NBA, and other quality assurance initiatives.
- Perform academic and administrative responsibilities assigned by the Department and University.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree (M.Tech./ME) in any of the following disciplines from a recognized university:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Thermal Engineering
- Design Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Automobile Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- CAD/CAM Engineering
- Robotics & Automation
- Or any other relevant specialization.
- NET/Ph.D. will be an added advantage as per UGC/University norms.
Experience
- Freshers with excellent academic credentials are welcome to apply.
- Candidates with 1–5 years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with engineering mechanics, manufacturing processes, machine design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and industrial engineering.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, ANSYS, Creo, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Effective classroom management and student mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP/LMS platforms, and digital teaching tools.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Research aptitude and commitment to continuous professional development.
