Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced South Indian Chef who specializes in preparing authentic South Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of taste, quality, hygiene, and consistency. The candidate should be skilled in handling breakfast items, snacks, and meal preparations in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare authentic South Indian dishes including Dosa, Idli, Vada, Uttapam, Pongal, Upma, Appam, and Chutneys.
- Prepare and maintain dosa batter, idli batter, sambhar, chutneys, and other pre-preparations.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portion control, and presentation.
- Manage kitchen operations during service hours.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and inventory levels.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Minimize wastage and control food costs.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and service team for smooth operations.
- Train junior cooks and kitchen helpers when required.
- Ensure proper storage of raw materials and finished products.
Required Skills
- Expertise in South Indian cuisine and traditional cooking techniques.
- Strong knowledge of dosa tawa operations and batter fermentation.
- Ability to work under pressure during peak hours.
- Knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety standards.
- Team player with positive attitude and discipline.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts (preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a South Indian Chef.
- Experience in restaurants, cafés, hotels, or cloud kitchens preferred.
Salary
- ₹20,000 – ₹25,000 per month (depending on experience and skills)
Preferred Additional Skills
- Knowledge of Maharashtrian breakfast items such as Kanda Poha, Sabudana Vada, Misal Pav, and Tea preparation.
- Ability to create new menu items and standard recipes.
- Experience working in high-volume breakfast and snack outlets.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
