Job Summary
The Assistant Construction Supervisor supports the planning, execution, and monitoring of civil construction, renovation, and maintenance projects across the institution. The role ensures that all construction activities are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with approved drawings, quality standards, and institutional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising day-to-day construction, renovation, and maintenance activities on campus.
- Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and labor teams to ensure timely completion of work.
- Verify that work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Inspect construction materials and ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Track project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain records of measurements, material consumption, work completion, and site documentation.
- Support estimation, quantity verification, and contractor bill certification.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and institutional policies at all construction sites.
- Identify and report site issues, delays, quality concerns, and safety risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor inventory of construction materials and coordinate procurement requirements.
- Assist in project handover, snag rectification, and final inspections.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1–5 years of experience in construction or civil site supervision (experience in educational institutions is preferred).
- Knowledge of construction methods, building materials, estimation, and quality control.
Required Skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and BOQs.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
- Understanding of construction safety practices and statutory regulations.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
