WE ARE HIRING – SENIOR TANNERY IN-CHARGE
Location: Kolkata (Bantala Leather Complex)
Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000 per month
(Salary is negotiable for the right candidate with strong tannery experience.)
Reporting To: Factory Head / Director – Operations
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Tannery In-Charge to independently manage day-to-day tannery operations and ensure consistent production of high-quality finished leather.
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of leather tanning, finishing, quality control, chemical management, production planning, and manpower handling.
Candidates currently working in Tanneries, Leather Processing Units, or Finished Leather Manufacturing Companies are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complete tannery operations from raw leather processing to finished leather production.
- Monitor tanning, re-tanning, dyeing, fatliquoring, drying, staking, buffing, and finishing processes.
- Ensure leather quality standards related to colour, softness, thickness, grain, texture, and finish.
- Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and minimizing wastage.
- Monitor chemical consumption and control processing costs.
- Supervise tannery workers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Purchase, Stores, and Maintenance Departments.
- Ensure proper maintenance of tannery equipment and utilities.
- Maintain production records, quality reports, and operational MIS.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and factory regulations.
Required Skills:
✔ Strong knowledge of leather tanning and finishing processes
✔ Experience in finished leather production
✔ Knowledge of leather quality standards and defect analysis
✔ Manpower management and production planning skills
✔ Understanding of leather chemicals and processing techniques
✔ Ability to improve productivity and reduce rejection
Qualification:
- Diploma / Degree in Leather Technology preferred.
- Relevant tannery experience is more important than educational qualification.
Experience Required:
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in Tannery Operations.
- Experience in Finished Leather Manufacturing is mandatory.
- Exposure to export-quality leather production will be an added advantage.
